Understanding workout

When you say "slowly begin to push inward with equal tension from both arms" do you mean push or press your clasped hands together using force from your hands? Sorry if its a dumb question😅😂

Stick your left arm straight out in front of you so that you hand is at the level of your shoulder. lock the entire arm out straight. Now move your elbow towards your mindine. In order to do that motion you have to pull the chest muscles inwards.

Read the anatomy sections from Perfect Body, this is why they are there, to teacher you these things :-) Watch the video instruction. The previous exercises are designed to build your awareness of the muscles so that you can isolate and voluntarily contract given muscle.

Train your chest, not your hands. ;-)

Not a dumb question at all. That quote comes from the instruction on chest defining isometrics, yes? In which case I mean to push inswards from the CHEST. if you push your hands together, the hands being the focus you'll contract your biceps ad forearms more than your chest. Instead, I want you to keep the arms locked as they are and squeeze your chest.

Read the anatomy sections - you'll see the purpose of the chest muscles is to bring your elbow closer to the midline.

By contracting your chest muscles it will pull your elbows closer to the midline - thus pressing your hands into each other. Focus on your chest - not your hands. Your hands and arms will look after themsevles. ;-)
